Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a Senior Project Manager to drive major mining operations near Rustenburg, from conception through completion, focusing on safety, efficiency and productivity. You will oversee planning, resourcing and stakeholder coordination, and lead cross-functional teams to ensure environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 8+ years in mining project management, a relevant degree, and on-site work with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 8+ years of progressive project management experience, with a significant mining focus.
• Experience managing large-scale operational improvement or capital projects in mining.
• Strong knowledge of mining equipment, processes, and safety regulations in North West.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Rustenburg with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute project plans for mining operations (scope, budget, schedule, resources).
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams with a safety-conscious approach.
• Manage all phases of the project lifecycle to meet timelines, quality benchmarks, and budgets.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation for operational and safety hazards.
• Coordinate with internal departments, external contractors and regulators for smooth execution.
• Oversee procurement, contract management, and financial reporting for all projects.
