Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive and analytical Mineral Processing Engineer to join their Mossel Bay team. The role focuses on optimizing mineral recovery from ore through design, operation, and improvement of crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching circuits in a plant environment.

The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering, 5+ years in mineral processing, and strong analytical skills with experience in process simulation, control, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing or metallurgy within the mining sector.
Proven experience with comminution, separation, and hydrometallurgical processes.
Strong analytical skills and experience with process simulation software.
Excellent understanding of process control and instrumentation.
Ability to work effectively in a plant environment and manage cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize mineral processing circuits to maximize recovery and minimize costs.
Conduct metallurgical test work and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
Troubleshoot operational problems and develop effective solutions to maintain plant performance.
Monitor key process parameters and ensure adherence to operational targets and quality standards.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including operating manuals and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with maintenance and operational teams to ensure plant reliability and efficiency.
