Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Plant Metallurgist to oversee and optimize mineral processing operations near Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will maximize metal recovery, improve process efficiency, and ensure product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of plant metallurgy experience in base/precious metals processing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mineral processing circuits including crushing, grinding, flotation, and gravity separation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize metallurgical plant performance focusing on recovery and costs.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot plant test work to evaluate new processes.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and identify root causes.
• Develop and manage process control strategies for consistent product quality.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to meet plant objectives.
