Placements24 is seeking a skilled Metallurgist for our Randburg operations. You will optimize mineral processing performance, conduct lab tests, and drive improvements to boost recovery while reducing costs.

You should have a degree in Metallurgy or chemical engineering and 4+ years of mineral processing experience, with strong analytical and communication skills to support plant teams and report findings.

Qualifications

Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy.
Strong understanding of flotation, comminution, and hydrometallurgy principles.
Experience with laboratory analysis and interpretation of metallurgical test results.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize mineral processing plant operations (crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
Conduct laboratory and pilot plant tests to evaluate new processing methods and reagents.
Analyze process data to identify improvements and implement corrective actions.
Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to plant personnel.
Develop and maintain process control strategies to maximize recovery.
Prepare technical reports on plant performance and test results.
