Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Metallurgist specializing in mineral processing to join our Centurion plant. You will optimize circuits including flotation and leaching, conduct lab and pilot tests, and analyze operational data to boost recovery and throughput.

A strong theoretical background with practical mineral processing experience is essential. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, problem-solving, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams to maximize ore value and process

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities.
Experience with mineral processing techniques such as flotation or cyanidation.

Responsibilities

Oversee and optimize mineral processing circuits (crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching).
Conduct lab and pilot plant tests to evaluate new processes and improve existing ones.
Analyze plant data to improve recovery, grade, and throughput.
Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to maximize efficiency.
Develop quality control procedures for process monitoring and product analysis.
Collaborate with mine operations and engineering teams for integration.
