Qualifications

• Minimum of a National Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a community support or social care role.
• Strong understanding of social welfare legislation and Gauteng services.
• Ability to manage caseloads and develop robust support plans.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in conflict resolution and crisis intervention techniques.
• Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude toward clients.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Midrand area.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and case management to clients facing social and mental health challenges.
• Conduct initial assessments to understand client needs and develop personalized support plans.
• Facilitate access to healthcare, housing, and employment services.
• Offer emotional support and counseling with active listening and empathy.
• Organize and lead community outreach programs and mental health awareness activities.
• Collaborate with social workers, psychologists, and medical practitioners to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records per policies and privacy rules.
• Respond promptly to crisis situations with de-escalation techniques.
