Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison to join its medical affairs team in the Benoni area. This hybrid role will build long-standing relationships with KOLs, clinicians, and researchers while delivering scientific information and supporting research initiatives in your territory.

The ideal candidate has an advanced life science degree with at least 3 years in an MSL role, strong presentation and communication skills, and a willingness to travel for field activities.

Qualifications

• Advanced life science degree required (MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years in an MSL or equivalent scientific exchange role.
• Deep knowledge in a therapeutic area (e.g., oncology, cardiology, immunology).
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join their expanding medical affairs team, focusing on the Benoni area. This hybrid role requires you to build and foster relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, and researchers within your territory. You will serve as a vital scientific and clinical resource, disseminating complex scientific information about our client's therapeutic areas and products. The ideal candidate is a highly knowledgeable scientific professional with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging in deep scientific discourse and supporting research initiatives. This position is crucial for advancing scientific understanding and supporting the clinical development of our client's innovative treatments.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals in assigned therapeutic areas.
• Engage in scientific exchange, providing in-depth clinical and scientific information on company products and disease states.
• Support investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and other research collaborations.
• Gather and report insights from KOLs and the field regarding treatment landscapes, unmet medical needs, and competitive intelligence.
• Represent the company at scientific conferences, symposia, and advisory boards.
• Contribute to the development of medical strategy and execute medical affairs plans within the territory.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a life science or healthcare discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical science liaison role or similar scientific exchange position.
• Deep understanding of a specific therapeutic area (e.g., oncology, cardiology, immunology).
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
