About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and dynamic Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join their expanding team, focusing on oncology therapeutic areas within the Western Cape, including Stellenbosch . This field-based role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs), disseminating complex scientific and clinical information about our client's oncology portfolio. You will serve as a vital scientific and clinical resource, engaging in deep scientific exchange to foster understanding of disease states and treatment options. This position requires a strong scientific background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to advancing medical knowledge in a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with KOLs and HCPs in the oncology field.
• Deliver accurate and balanced scientific and clinical information regarding company products and therapeutic areas.
• Identify and support investigator-initiated research (IIR) opportunities.
• Gather insights on clinical practice, unmet medical needs, and competitive intelligence from the field.
• Present scientific data at medical congresses, advisory boards, and symposia.
• Collaborate internally with medical affairs, R&D, and commercial teams to ensure coordinated efforts.
• Provide scientific support for medical education initiatives and clinical trial activities.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a life science or clinical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison or related medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on Oncology.
• Deep understanding of oncology therapeutic areas, clinical trial design, and data interpretation.
• Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with scientific and medical experts.
• Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory and occasional national/international travel.
