Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly knowledgeable Medical Science Liaison to cover the Vereeniging region and surrounding areas. You will build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, disseminate scientific information, and support IIS and real-world evidence initiatives.

The role requires an advanced life-science degree and 3–5 years in medical affairs, with travel across the territory. You will collaborate with marketing, sales, and R&D to inform medical strategy and product development.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and scientifically driven Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to cover the Vereeniging area and surrounding regions. In this critical role, you will serve as a key scientific and medical resource, building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in relevant therapeutic areas. You will facilitate the exchange of scientific information, support clinical research initiatives, and provide medical insights to internal teams. This position requires a deep understanding of pharmaceutical products, disease states, and the healthcare landscape, contributing to the medical strategy and successful product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, researchers, and healthcare professionals in assigned therapeutic areas.
• Disseminate complex scientific and clinical information regarding company products and therapeutic areas.
• Support investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and facilitate the collection of real-world evidence.
• Provide scientific and medical expertise to internal teams, including marketing, sales, and R&D.
• Attend and present at medical conferences, symposia, and advisory boards.
• Monitor the scientific and medical landscape, reporting key insights, trends, and competitive intelligence.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., or equivalent) in a relevant life science discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or a related scientific role within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with Key Opinion Leaders and healthcare professionals.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial design, data interpretation, and regulatory affairs.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
