Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Medical Science Liaison in Limpopo to serve as the scientific and medical expert across designated therapeutic areas. The role requires extensive regional travel with occasional office meetings in Polokwane.

You will build relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals, disseminate scientific information, and support medical strategy and clinical trial activities within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a scientific/clinical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years as an MSL or in medical affairs.
• In-depth knowledge of the therapeutic area and literature.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified and scientifically adept Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as a key scientific and medical expert in the Limpopo province. This hybrid role requires extensive travel within the region and occasional office-based meetings in Polokwane . You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the therapeutic area, disseminating scientific information, and gathering insights to support the company's medical strategy. This position is critical for fostering scientific exchange and advancing the understanding of our client's therapeutic solutions among leading medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary scientific and medical expert for assigned therapeutic areas within the region.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), investigators, and other healthcare professionals.
• Deliver scientific presentations and respond to unsolicited medical information requests from healthcare professionals.
• Gather insights from KOLs and the scientific community regarding treatment practices, unmet medical needs, and research trends.
• Support clinical trial activities, including site identification and investigator engagement.
• Contribute to the development of the local medical affairs strategy.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DVM) in a relevant scientific or clinical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MSL or in a similar medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of the assigned therapeutic area and relevant scientific literature.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to build rapport and engage with scientific and clinical experts.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory and participate in hybrid work activities.
