Placements24 is seeking a highly educated Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Oncology to cover the Klerksdorp region. You will be the scientific and medical expert, engaging with KOLs, healthcare professionals and researchers to foster scientific exchange and provide in‑depth information on the company’s oncology portfolio.

This field-based role requires deep oncology knowledge, the ability to convey complex data clearly, and a proven track record in medical affairs.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific degree in life sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent).
• 4+ years experience as an MSL or in medical affairs with a focus on oncology.
• Deep knowledge of oncology therapeutics, clinical trials and literature.
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with medical experts.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the territory.

Responsibilities

• Engage with KOLs and healthcare providers on clinical data and disease state.
• Provide scientific and clinical support to medical affairs and R&D.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly educated and experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Oncology to cover the Klerksdorp region. As an MSL, you will be the key scientific and medical expert, engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and researchers to foster scientific exchange and provide in-depth information on the company's oncology portfolio. This field-based role requires a deep understanding of oncology therapeutics, clinical data, and the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships within the medical community. You will be at the forefront of disseminating cutting-edge scientific information.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with KOLs and healthcare providers to discuss clinical data, disease state, and therapeutic strategies.
• Provide scientific and clinical support to internal teams, including medical affairs and R&D.
• Identify and develop key opinion leader relationships and research collaborations.
• Gather and communicate insights from the field regarding therapeutic trends, unmet medical needs, and competitive intelligence.
• Present complex scientific and clinical data in a clear and compelling manner.
• Support the planning and execution of medical affairs activities, including advisory boards and investigator meetings.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant life science discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an MSL or in a similar medical affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on oncology.
• In-depth knowledge of oncology therapeutic areas, clinical trial design, and relevant medical literature.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with medical experts.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned geographical territory.
