Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer for our client in Nelspruit. The role focuses on improving long-term performance of mechanical systems across industrial applications, analyzing failure data, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies to maximize uptime.

You will collaborate with design and maintenance teams, perform FMEA/FTA, track MTBF/MTTR metrics, and develop testing plans. A bachelor's degree and at least four years' reliability experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of mechanical engineering experience with reliability focus.
• Proficiency in FMEA, FTA, and Weibull analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement reliability programs for mechanical systems and components.
• Analyze field data, failure reports and maintenance records to identify root causes.
• Conduct FMEA and FTA to predict and mitigate failures.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to implement improvements.
• Define and track reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, availability).
• Develop test plans for reliability testing and oversee execution.
• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
