Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to oversee the upkeep and efficiency of industrial facilities in Paarl, Western Cape. You will plan maintenance schedules, troubleshoot failures, and drive preventative maintenance to maximise equipment availability and output.

Responsibilities include planning and executing maintenance for machinery, diagnosing issues across pumps, motors and plant systems, managing spares, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Millwright required.
• 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute routine and emergency maintenance for mechanical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures in production machinery, pumps, motors and plant equipment.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Conduct inspections and condition monitoring to identify potential issues before they escalate.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement of components.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
