Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Plant Maintenance Engineer for our Pretoria client to lead maintenance operations, improve reliability of all plant machinery, and reduce downtime across the facility.

You will develop robust preventative and predictive maintenance programs, mentor technicians, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, analyze equipment data for improvements, and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards in a major industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years plant maintenance experience; 3+ years supervisory.
• Proven diagnosing and resolving complex machinery failures.
• Strong CMMS and predictive maintenance knowledge.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing or heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for plant machinery and equipment.
• Lead and mentor the maintenance team, assigning tasks, and ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety.
• Oversee troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, root causes of failure, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage spare parts inventory, procurement of maintenance supplies, and maintenance budgets effectively.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to plant maintenance.
