Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our client’s Welkom operations in South Africa. The role focuses on reliability, maintenance, and performance optimization of pumps, compressors, turbines, and motors in a heavy industrial setting.

You will implement predictive and preventive maintenance, lead root cause analyses, oversee repairs and installations, and provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of rotating equipment experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines and gearboxes.
• Proficiency in vibration analysis and other diagnostic techniques.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Excellent troubleshooting and hands-on problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed analysis of rotating equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement and potential failures.
• Develop and implement comprehensive predictive maintenance programs using vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee the repair, overhaul, and installation of critical rotating machinery.
• Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance and operations teams.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance history, and spare parts inventory.
