Placements24 is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes at its Rustenburg facility. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, and cost through lean and Six Sigma methodologies, process simulations, and automation technologies.

CAD tooling design and cross-functional collaboration are essential. The ideal candidate has a strong track record in manufacturing engineering, with at least five years of experience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering with proven process optimization.
• Strong knowledge of lean, Six Sigma and continual improvement methodologies.
• Experience with process simulation software and automation technologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software for tooling/fixtures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of quality control and manufacturing standards.
• Effective communication and ability to train production staff.
• Experience in metals/mining support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current processes to identify bottlenecks and cost reductions.
• Develop and implement improvements using lean, Six Sigma and automation.
• Design, test and validate new processes and equipment.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions and control plans.
• Collaborate with production teams to implement changes and train staff.
• Work with design/R&D to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Monitor KPIs related to efficiency, quality and cost; report progress.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Evaluate new technologies/equipment to enhance capabilities.
