Job summary

Placements24 in Klerksdorp is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Process Optimization. This hybrid role combines on-site collaboration with production teams and remote analysis and reporting to improve efficiency and costs.

You will apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to identify bottlenecks, design optimized layouts, develop SOPs and control plans, and monitor KPIs. A 3–5 year track record in manufacturing engineering with SPC/data analysis is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role with focus on process optimization.
• Proven knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and tools (e.g., VSM, Kaizen, 5S).
• Experience with SPC and data analysis.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model with on-site and remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement solutions using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Design and optimize production layouts and workflows for maximum efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with production staff, quality control, and management to implement and sustain process improvements.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including SOPs and control plans.
• Monitor KPIs and generate reports on manufacturing performance and project outcomes.
