Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to support and optimize production processes at their Klerksdorp facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, process improvements, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 4 years of manufacturing or production engineering experience, and strong Lean/Six Sigma knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
• Strong understanding of industrial machinery, process improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma), and maintenance strategies.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with CAD software for minor modifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify efficiency, cost, and quality improvements.
• Develop and implement modifications to machinery to enhance performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and downtime with prompt corrective actions.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for production machinery.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth operation and address technical challenges.
