Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in international logistics coordination or freight forwarding.
• In-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
• Experience with various shipping modes (air, sea, road) and required documentation.
• Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with South African customs environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding international trading company, is seeking a meticulous and proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage their complex shipping operations from their hub in Cape Town, Western Cape . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across international borders. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of inbound and outbound international shipments, liaising with carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all international freight forwarding activities, including air, sea, and land transportation.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
• Liaise with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of goods and compliance with all import/export regulations.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates to stakeholders on status and expected delivery times.
• Negotiate rates and terms with shipping lines, airlines, and trucking companies.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during transit or customs clearance.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipment details, costs, and documentation.

Requirements
