About the Role

Our client, a prominent import and export company, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage international shipments and associated documentation. Based in the bustling port city of Cape Town, Western Cape , this role is integral to ensuring the smooth, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods across international borders. You will work closely with shipping lines, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to facilitate seamless global logistics operations. This is a full-time, on-site position at our offices in Cape Town .

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international freight movements via sea, air, and land.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
• Liaise with customs officials and brokers to ensure compliance with import and export regulations.
• Track shipments in real-time and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
• Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistical activities and expenses.
• Ensure compliance with international trade laws and company policies.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, and warehouse teams to manage inbound and outbound logistics.
• Identify opportunities to optimize shipping routes and reduce transportation costs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or International Trade is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics coordination, with a strong focus on international shipping and customs procedures.
• Familiarity with Incoterms, HTS codes, and customs clearance processes.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and common office applications (e.g., MS Office Suite).
