Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily scheduling and dispatching of Code 14 vehicles and drivers.
• Monitor fleet performance, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and operational efficiency.
• Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs and servicing to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet operations, including driver logs, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance history.
• Liaise with drivers to address operational issues, provide support, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Analyze fleet data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance fleet safety and driver performance.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables for fleet maintenance.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations or breakdowns affecting the fleet.

Requirements

• Valid South African Code 14 driver's license.
• Valid Professional Driver's Permit (PDP).
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in logistics or fleet management, with significant exposure to heavy-duty vehicles (Code 14).
• Proven experience in coordinating and managing a fleet of vehicles.
• Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of South African transportation legislation and safety standards.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
