Job summary

Bonafide Human Capital Pty (Ltd) is seeking a Remuneration Manager at its Head Office in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Personnel Services Executive, you will lead the remuneration team and drive payroll strategy, controls and efficiency.

The role requires a tertiary payroll qualification, 10 years of payroll management experience (3 in a managerial role) and Payspace payroll system expertise. Strong knowledge of labour legislation and reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in payroll or related field.
• 10 years payroll management experience with 3 years in a managerial role.
• Subject matter expert for payroll, systems, taxes and complex processing.
• Experience in payroll implementation and interfaces to other apps.
• Payroll programming skills are advantageous.
• Extensive experience with 1000+ employee payrolls and multiple employment conditions.
• Solid financial and accounting acumen.

Responsibilities

• Maximise payroll processing efficiency and automate where possible.
• Audit integrity of payroll systems, rules, calculations and compliance.
• Conduct payroll reviews and ensure input accuracy and timely payments.
• Implement remuneration policy and manage the remuneration department.
• Lead and mentor the payroll team and manage the monthly/annual payroll closing.
• Prepare end-of-month, end-of-year, and tax-year payroll reporting and reconciliations.
• Develop policies, workflows and internal processes; document improvements.
• Manage department budget and monitor actuals.
• Oversee payroll systems interfaces to external systems and data processing.
• Ensure compliance with recordkeeping, deadline adherence and legal requirements.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and maintain relationships.
