Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of building services projects in the Western Cape, South Africa. You will manage scope, budgets, timelines, and quality, and provide technical leadership across multiple projects, including HVAC, ventilation, wet services, and fire protection.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with clients and contractors, attend site meetings, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in mechanical building services design and site work.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, wet services and fire protection.
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; leadership and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical building services projects.
Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and quality from start to finish.
Design and oversee HVAC, ventilation, wet services, and fire protection systems.
Take ownership of technical delivery across multiple projects.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers.
Work closely with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams.
Attend site meetings, conduct inspections, and support implementation and commissioning.
Ensure designs meet relevant engineering standards, codes, and client requirements.
