Job summary

Communicate Finance in Western Cape seeks a senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to lead the design, coordination and delivery of complex mechanical projects. You will oversee HVAC, wet services and fire protection designs, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring project milestones are met.

The role requires 8+ years of building services experience, strong leadership, and the ability to travel to project sites.

• Lead the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects
• Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and quality standards
• Oversee the design of HVAC, wet services, and fire protection systems
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Conduct site visits and support project implementation and commissioning

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of mechanical building services design and site experience
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, wet services, and fire protection systems
• Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneouslyAdvanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and deliver projects to deadlines
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites

Qualification:

• BEng, BSc, or BTech in Mechanical Engineering
• Professionally registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (PrEng)
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects from concept through completion
