Job summary

WSP is strengthening its Mechanical offering in Cape Town. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead building services projects with a focus on HVAC design, supported by expertise in medical gases, utilities and related systems.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng/BScEng/BTechEng (Mechanical) with 5+ years in building services consulting and 2+ years post-registration. Proficiency in BIM tools and design software is essential for delivering high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have a BEng / BSc Eng / BTech Eng (Mechanical) degree with relevant experience.
• Must have minimum 5 years post-graduation experience in building services.
• Must have at least 2 years post-registration experience in the field of registration.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high level of technical proficiency across HVAC design and related disciplines.
• Lead projects from inception to closeout with the ability to work independently and mentor teams.
• Design HVAC systems including heat loads and ventilation per SA and international standards.
• Apply BIM principles using AutoCAD, Revit and ACC for digital delivery.
• Manage tender documentation, prepare BOQs and oversee contractor and contract management.
