Communicate Finance is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of building services projects in the Western Cape, South Africa. You will manage scope, budgets, timelines, and quality, and provide technical leadership across multiple projects, including HVAC, ventilation, wet services, and fire protection.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with clients and contractors, attend site meetings, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical building services design and site work.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, wet services and fire protection.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; leadership and collaboration skills.

Job Description:

• Lead the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical building services projects
• Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and quality from start to finish
• Design and oversee HVAC, ventilation, wet services, and fire protection systems
• Take ownership of technical delivery across multiple projects
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers
• Work closely with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams
• Attend site meetings, conduct inspections, and support implementation and commissioning
• Ensure designs meet relevant engineering standards, codes, and client requirements

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in mechanical building services design and site work
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, ventilation, wet services, and fire protection
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• A hands-on, solutions-driven approach with the ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites
• Demonstrated experience leading projects from concept through to completion

Qualification:

• BEng, BSc, or BTech in Mechanical Engineering
• ECSA Professional Registration (PR Eng/ PR Technologist) is essential
