Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Lead HR Specialist focused on Employee Relations to join a fully remote, global team. You will guide and shape the company’s approach to employee relations, serving as the primary contact for complex ER issues and driving resolutions.

The role requires extensive ER experience, strong knowledge of SA labor law, and the ability to influence HR policies from anywhere within a remote-first culture.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Law, Industrial Relations, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in HR with Employee Relations focus.
• Proven experience working in a remote capacity.
• Deep knowledge of South African labor law and employment standards.
• Proven investigations experience with recommendations.

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a seasoned Lead HR Specialist focused on Employee Relations to join their fully remote, global team. This critical role will be responsible for guiding and shaping the company's approach to employee relations, ensuring a fair, respectful, and productive workplace for all. You will be the primary point of contact for complex employee relations issues, providing expert advice and driving resolutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing challenging employee situations, a deep understanding of labor law, and the ability to foster strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of employee relations, including investigations, dispute resolution, and disciplinary processes.

• Provide expert guidance and support to HR colleagues and business leaders on complex employee relations matters.
• Interpret and apply labor laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
• Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into grievances, harassment claims, and other employee complaints.
• Identify trends and patterns in employee relations issues and recommend systemic improvements.
• Develop and deliver training programs to managers and employees on employee relations best practices, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Collaborate with legal counsel when necessary to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Promote a culture of open communication, fairness, and respect throughout the organization.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all employee relations activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a specialization in Employee Relations.
• Demonstrated experience working effectively in a fully remote capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor law, employment legislation, and industrial relations principles.
• Proven experience conducting complex investigations and providing sound recommendations.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to remain objective, impartial, and discreet in handling sensitive information.
• Experience in developing and delivering HR training programs.
• Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and case management software.
