Placements24 is seeking a Lead Grid Modernization Engineer for our client in Sandton, Gauteng. You will lead design and deployment of advanced grid technologies, driving reliability, efficiency, and renewable integration across a major utility.
The role requires a Master's in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), 10+ years in power systems with 5+ in grid modernization, and proven leadership of engineering teams. Pr.Eng. designation is preferred.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems.
- 10+ years in power systems engineering, with 5+ years in grid modernization.
- Proven leadership of engineering teams on large infrastructure projects.
- PR. Eng. designation preferred.
Responsibilities
- Direct the design and implementation of grid modernization projects.
- Develop strategic plans for grid performance, resilience and efficiency.
- Lead engineers in planning and deployment of grid upgrades.
- Conduct technical analysis, modeling and simulations of power systems.
- Collaborate with regulators, partners, and internal stakeholders for project success.
- Oversee procurement and integration of advanced grid control and monitoring systems.
- Develop robust testing and commissioning procedures for new grid technologies.
- Provide expert technical advice on grid modernization.
- Manage budgets, timelines and resources to deliver within scope.
