Job summary

MANCOSA PTY LTD, an IT services and solutions provider in Paarl, seeks an analytical IT support specialist. The role focuses on security administration, server and network monitoring, and end-user support, with ongoing upgrades and new feature implementation.

Ideal candidates have about two years in IT support, a tertiary IT qualification, and knowledge of AD, Windows Server, 365, UniFi, and CCTV. A driver’s licence is required to travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Tertiary IT qualification in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• About 2 years' IT support experience.
• A+, N+, MCSE see edge advantages.
• Knowledge of IT networks, Microsoft products, Windows Server and Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of UniFi products and CCTV systems is beneficial.
• Experience troubleshooting and installing third-party apps.
• Valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Administer network and data security: AD, GPO, firewalls, antivirus, VoIP, email security.
• Back up data and ensure recoverability.
• Install and upgrade network systems.
• Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
• Install and maintain network cabling.
• Monitor servers, LAN/WAN, VoIP, and Wi‑Fi for optimal performance.
• Assist with design, implementation and support of new tech features.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
• Respond to IT issues via phone, remote access or on-site.
• Provide helpdesk and technical support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system errors.
• Set up equipment for new users.
• Consult with vendors/clients to update technology.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resources and maintain asset register.

Our client, an IT services and solutions provider situated in Paarl, is seeking the services of an analytical, process-driven individual to form part of their team.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Administer network and data security, including Active Directory, Group Policy, firewalls, antivirus protection, VoIP, and email security.
• Perform data backups to ensure all client data is securely stored and recoverable.
• Install and implement network system upgrades and improvements.
• Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
• Install and maintain network cabling.
• Monitor servers, LAN/WAN, VoIP, and Wi-Fi systems to ensure optimal performance and coverage.
• Assist with the design, implementation, and support of new software, hardware, and system features.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
• Respond to IT-related issues involving hardware, software, networking, and system maintenance.
• Provide helpdesk and technical support via phone, remote access, or on-site visits.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system errors.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

• Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Approximately 2 years' experience in a similar IT support position.
• A+, N+, and MCSE certifications will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of IT networks, Microsoft products, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of UniFi products, analogue and IP CCTV systems will be advantageous.
• Experience troubleshooting issues and installing third-party applications.
