Senior IT & Security Support Technician

Hire Resolves client is looking for a skilled and proactive Senior IT & Security Support Technician to join their team in Pretoria, Gauteng. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of networks, systems, and hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, security background and a problem‑solving mindset to provide efficient and effective IT support to the staff and company.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network‑related issues.
• Maintain and manage internal IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems.
• Install, configure, and update workstations, laptops, and other IT equipment.
• Assist in the deployment and management of IT policies and procedures.
• Support internal teams with software applications and technical queries.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers for hardware/software procurement and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations, and support logs.
• Implement and support MS Office products and Microsoft 365, including but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
• Design and install well‑functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling.
• Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs.
• Install and maintain VoIP software.
• Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices.
• Organize and schedule installations and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree/Diploma in IT.
• Completed A+/N+ certification.
• Experience: 2‑4 years of experience in IT support, network administration, and security.
• Skills: All Windows related packages and programs, understanding switches, network cabling, patching, WIFI, network printing, ADSL lines, routers, and modems.
