Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Service Desk Agent in Benoni to be the primary contact for IT support requests. You will troubleshoot a wide range of hardware, software, and networking issues to keep employees productive.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, documentation, and teamwork within a dedicated IT department. On-site with opportunities for development and performance-based salary increases. Experience in a service desk is preferred and a post-secondary IT qualification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a diploma or degree in IT or a related field is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a service desk or IT support role.
• Proficiency with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Log, track, and resolve all incoming user support requests via the IT ticketing system.
• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate IT specialists or teams.
• Assist with the setup and configuration of new user workstations and equipment.
• Create and maintain documentation for common IT issues and resolutions.
