The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing three key functions within the Infrastructure division: IT Infrastructure, IT Support, and Facilities Management. This role ensures the effective delivery of technology services, workplace infrastructure, business continuity, and facilities operations, enabling the organisation to maintain a secure, efficient, and productive operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT Infrastructure, IT Support, and Facilities teams.
- Ensure all functions operate efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with business priorities and service expectations.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, processes, and governance frameworks that promote consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Foster collaboration across teams to create an integrated and service-oriented Infrastructure department.
Team Management & Development
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management to team members.
- Establish clear performance objectives and monitor delivery against agreed KPIs and service standards.
- Identify skills gaps and implement training and development plans to enhance team capabilities.
- Build a culture of professionalism, accountability, customer focus, and continuous learning.
Service Delivery & Process Improvement
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), turnaround times, and operational performance targets.
- Implement and optimise processes that improve efficiency, productivity, and service quality across all teams.
- Drive initiatives that reduce operational costs, improve business performance, and support organisational growth.
- Continuously evaluate and improve service delivery models to enhance user and stakeholder satisfaction.
Infrastructure, Security & Business Continuity
- Oversee the availability, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure and facilities.
- Ensure systems, networks, buildings, and related infrastructure are proactively maintained and managed.
- Support the implementation of robust cybersecurity practices, risk mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Maintain effective business continuity and disaster recovery plans to minimise operational disruption.
Project & Vendor Management
- Lead infrastructure and facilities-related projects from planning through implementation.
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality service delivery and value for money.
- Monitor budgets, resource allocation, and project performance to meet business and operational objectives.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Facilities Management, Business Management, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior IT Operations, Infrastructure Management, or Facilities Management leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple operational teams within a technology and/or infrastructure environment.
- Experience developing and implementing operational policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Strong track record of driving operational efficiency, service improvement, and team performance.
Technical Knowledge
- Cybersecurity and information security best practices.
- IT infrastructure management, including servers, networks, cloud services, and end‑user computing.
- Facilities and building management.
