About the Role

Our client, a respected name in the Logistics & Warehousing sector, is searching for a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Manager to oversee inventory accuracy and optimize stock management processes at their facility in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role is vital for ensuring the integrity of stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and implementing efficient inventory control systems. The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance stock accuracy, reduce shrinkage, and improve overall warehouse efficiency. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to lead initiatives aimed at maintaining optimal inventory levels. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding assets and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust inventory control procedures and policies for the Stellenbosch, Western Cape warehouse.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
• Implement strategies to reduce inventory shrinkage, obsolescence, and damage.
• Analyze inventory data and generate reports on stock status, turnover, and accuracy metrics.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and warehouse operations teams to ensure efficient inventory flow.
• Manage and optimize the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking.
• Train and supervise inventory control staff, ensuring adherence to established procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control or management, preferably within the Logistics & Warehousing industry.
• Proven track record of implementing successful inventory control systems and reducing discrepancies.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, forecasting techniques, and stocktaking methodologies.
• Proficiency with WMS and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Good communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing remote analysis with on-site oversight.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and best practices.
