Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a detail-oriented Instrumentation Technician to install, calibrate and maintain instrumentation and control systems across our energy facilities. You will ensure accurate sensor performance and support safe, efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of industrial experience and holds a National Diploma or Trade Test in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering, with strong calibration, troubleshooting and safety skills.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Trade Test in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in an industrial or energy environment
• Proficiency in calibrating and troubleshooting various types of instrumentation
• Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and working in hazardous environments
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain a wide range of industrial instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty instrumentation and control systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
