Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to support operations in Richards Bay. The role focuses on maintenance, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and control equipment to ensure accurate measurement and safe, efficient processes.

The successful candidate will read P&IDs, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot faults while collaborating with engineers and operators to optimize instrument performance in a challenging industrial setting.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or equivalent in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Instrumentation Technician in an industrial or process environment.
• Proficiency in calibrating and maintaining various types of transmitters and control valves.
• Knowledge of instrumentation wiring, loop testing, and HART communication.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair industrial instruments (pressure, temp, flow, level).
• Perform routine diagnostic checks and preventive maintenance on instrumentation systems.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and implement effective repair solutions.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and instrument loop diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to ensure optimal instrument performance.
