Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join a team in Klerksdorp, North West. You will install, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control equipment used in energy generation facilities.

You will read P&IDs, support commissioning, and ensure safety compliance while improving process reliability. The role requires at least 3 years' experience in process plants.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Instrumentation or relevant trade qualification (e.g., N3).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician, preferably in a process plant or energy facility.
• Proficiency in calibrating and maintaining various types of industrial instruments.
• Experience with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems is advantageous.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters).
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on instrumentation systems to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrument and control loop issues.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and instrument datasheets.
• Ensure safety regulations, company procedures, and quality standards are followed.
• Assist in commissioning of new instrumentation and control systems.
