Placements24 seeks an experienced Instrumentation Technician to support operations in Sandton. You will calibrate, install, troubleshoot, and repair a range of instruments including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, ensuring accuracy and safety in a demanding industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified Instrumentation Technician with a relevant trade certificate or diploma.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems.

• Proficient reading and interpretation of P&ID diagrams and technical documentation.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Technician to support their operations in Sandton . This role is integral to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of critical measurement and control instruments used in industrial processes. You will be responsible for the calibration, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of instruments, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters. This is an opportunity for a technically proficient individual to contribute to operational efficiency and safety within a demanding industrial environment, working with state-of-the-art control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Calibrate, install, and maintain various industrial instruments, including transmitters, controllers, and sensors.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in instrumentation and control systems, performing necessary repairs.
• Read and interpret P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and technical manuals for system understanding.
• Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Work with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) as required.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant industry standards and company policies.

Requirements

• Qualified Instrumentation Technician with a relevant trade certificate or diploma.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems.
• Strong knowledge of calibration techniques and the use of specialized calibration equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&ID diagrams and technical documentation.
