Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Sous Chef for a renowned restaurant in Kimberley. The role supports the Head Chef across daily kitchen operations, menu development, and staff supervision, with a focus on high-quality food and presentation.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for excellence in a fast-paced, creative environment. Hands-on cooking, staff training, and ensuring safety standards are a core part of the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional culinary experience, including 1 year in a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie role.
• Proficiency in various cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
• Experience in a similar restaurant environment focused on quality cuisine.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to guide kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking and plating.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of performance and adherence to recipes.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation across all dishes.
• Manage specific kitchen stations and ensure efficient workflow during service.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering and proper food storage.
• Uphold hygiene, sanitation and food safety standards (HACCP).
• Contribute to menu development and recipe testing.
