Job summary

Placements24 in Kimberley, Northern Cape, seeks an Industrial Process Designer on a contract basis to conceptualize, design, and develop industrial processes that are safe, efficient, and cost-effective. You will work on projects from new facilities to modifications, translate complex requirements into practical layouts, and ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Industrial/Chemical/Mechanical).
• Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial process design and development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks; familiarity with process simulation tools.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new industrial processes and systems for efficiency and safety.
• Create PFDs and P&IDs (PFDs and P&IDs).
• Utilize CAD to develop equipment layouts, system designs and drawings.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed designs.
• Specify equipment requirements and collaborate with procurement on vendor selection.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project teams and site personnel for design implementation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during execution.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports and presentations.
• Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies in industrial process design.
