Placements24 seeks an Industrial Engineering Manager for its Mossel Bay operations in the Western Cape. This role leads a team of industrial engineers, overseeing process design, workflow optimization, capacity planning, and cost-reduction initiatives across multiple lines.

The ideal candidate has a master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, 8+ years in IE with at least 3 in management, and strong lean/Six Sigma expertise. Travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Expertise in lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma (Black Belt certification strongly preferred).
• Proven experience in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of industrial engineers to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
• Develop and implement strategic industrial engineering plans to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee the design, analysis, and optimization of manufacturing processes, plant layouts, and material handling systems.
• Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Manage large-scale engineering projects, including scope definition, budgeting, resource allocation, and timely execution.
• Establish and track KPIs for operational performance, capacity, and quality.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments to align engineering initiatives.
• Champion safety and environmental compliance; present reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
