Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer for their Mossel Bay operations in the Western Cape. The role emphasizes driving process excellence, optimizing production lines, and delivering continuous improvements across manufacturing and operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering foundation, 2–5 years of experience, and proficiency in lean methods, CAD, and data analysis tools. This role offers a dynamic environment with growth opportunities in sustainable agriculture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years in an industrial engineering role, preferably manufacturing.
• Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• CAD software for process/layout design.
• Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Knowledge of production planning is beneficial.
• Legally eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes for optimization and efficiency.
• Design and implement new layouts to enhance productivity and reduce cycle times.
• Conduct time studies, capacity planning, and resource allocation analysis.
• Apply lean techniques (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
• Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance to address issues.
• Use data analysis to monitor process performance and trends.
• Assist in evaluating new equipment and technologies.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental regulations are followed.
• Support continuous improvement and drive operational excellence.
