Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to join its Paarl-based manufacturing operations. The role focuses on implementing and refining production processes to boost efficiency and product quality on the shop floor.

You will collaborate with production teams, quality control and management to identify improvement opportunities, conduct time studies, apply lean methods like 5S and Kaizen, and help install new equipment and technologies to drive measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years hands-on experience in IE/manufacturing engineering.
• Familiarity with lean principles and optimization tools.
• Proficiency with data analysis software and design tools.
• Strong observational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and improvements.
• Develop and implement optimized workflows, layouts, and material flow.
• Apply lean techniques (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping) to reduce waste.
• Conduct time studies and work sampling to establish SOPs and productivity benchmarks.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on quality initiatives and issue resolution.
