Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to join our Durban manufacturing operations. You will analyze current systems, identify inefficiencies, and develop practical solutions to improve output and reduce waste, contributing to a culture of operational excellence.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, and strong knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, and SPC, with proficiency in CAD and simulation software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma concepts, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proficiency in using simulation software, CAD, and standard office productivity tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes, workflows, and plant layouts to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement solutions to improve production efficiency, material flow, and labor productivity.
• Conduct detailed studies on workflow, equipment utilization, and production capacity to recommend improvements.
• Assist in the design and implementation of new production lines, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to gather insights and implement process changes effectively.
• Track KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, and quality, and report findings to management.
