Placements24 is seeking a versatile Industrial Engineer to manage and optimize facilities and operational processes at its Port Elizabeth site. You will apply engineering principles to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance safety through layout, material handling, and space utilization.

The role requires a strong background in facility design and operational analysis, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to lead cross-functional improvement projects within a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, focusing on facility design and operations.
• Strong understanding of layout optimization, material flow analysis, and ergonomic principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software for layout design and simulation tools.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and waste reduction techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current facility layouts and workflows, implementing improvements for efficiency and safety.
• Develop and maintain material handling systems to optimize inventory flow and reduce transit times.
• Design and implement efficient production line setups and workspace configurations.
• Conduct time and motion studies to improve operator efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with facilities management on infrastructure projects and space planning.
• Ensure health and safety regulations compliance within plant operations.
