Placements24 in South Africa seeks a Youth Development Coordinator to design and manage programs that empower young people through education, life skills, and career guidance in Mahikeng and surrounding areas. You will engage directly with youth, partner with schools and community centers, organize workshops, manage budgets, and report on outcomes.

The role requires a degree in a related field, 3+ years of youth experience, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or diploma in Social Work, Education, Youth Development, Community Development, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with youth in program coordination, facilitation, or development.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing youth-focused programs.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Strong understanding of needs of young people in South Africa, especially in the North West.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse groups of youth and stakeholders.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and implement youth development programs focusing on areas such as education, life skills, career guidance, and civic engagement.
• Engage directly with youth participants, providing mentorship and support to foster their development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community centers, local businesses, and other organizations involved in youth development in Mahikeng .
• Organize workshops, training sessions, and events for youth participants.
• Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Monitor program progress, collect feedback from participants and stakeholders, and report on outcomes and impact.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers or interns assisting with youth programs.
• Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in youth development.
