Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Technical Support Agent in Centurion, Gauteng, offering a hybrid work model. You’ll provide first-line technical assistance, diagnose issues, and guide users through solutions, balancing remote work with in-office collaboration at our Centurion hub.

The role requires strong hardware/software knowledge, problem-solving, and excellent communication. An IT-related Diploma/degree is preferred, with CompTIA A+ desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Technical Support Specialist or IT Support.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
• Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
• IT certification such as CompTIA A+ is desirable.
• Hybrid work ability, Centurion-based.
• Diploma or degree in Computer Science/IT preferred.
• Customer-oriented and patient demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and support for queries related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
• Respond to queries under defined SLAs.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
• Guide users through problem-solving steps and document resolutions.
• Escalate unresolved issues per standard procedures to internal teams.
• Log all interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Provide basic training to users on software/hardware usage.
• Suggest improvements to procedures and workflows.
• Maintain high level of customer service for all queries.
