Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer in Bloemfontein to optimize manufacturing processes and drive efficiency across production lines. You will optimize tooling, automation, and SOPs while guiding lean initiatives to improve quality and reduce costs.

The role requires a strong background in machining, stamping, welding, and automation, with experience in ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. Collaboration with design teams and mentorship of juniors are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Minimum 6 years in a manufacturing engineering role.
Experience with lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
Proficient in CAD/CAM and process simulation.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Design and optimize tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support production operations.
Oversee installation, calibration, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Lead lean initiatives and continuous improvement (Kaizen, Six Sigma).
Develop and maintain SOPs for all processes.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
