Placements24 is seeking a results-driven Project Manager to oversee mining projects from exploration through expansion in Welkom. This role emphasizes safe, on-budget delivery with strong collaboration across operations, engineering, and external contractors.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, balancing on-site leadership with remote coordination, and requires a solid background in mining project delivery and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of project management experience with a mining focus.
• Experience delivering large capital projects or operational improvement initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field; PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of mining projects (planning, execution, monitoring, closure).
• Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for mining initiatives.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory standards are followed in all activities.
• Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment and contractors, for optimal performance.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Communicate status and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
