Placements24 seeks a dedicated Mechanical Project Engineer to manage and execute mining projects in Welkom. This on-site role involves planning, implementing, and delivering complex mechanical engineering initiatives, coordinating with site operations, suppliers, and contractors.

You will oversee all phases from scope definition to commissioning, leveraging strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to drive milestones and safety compliance on a demanding site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in project engineering with a focus on mechanical systems.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Knowledge of mining operations is advantageous.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, from planning to execution.
• Oversee design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to meet milestones.
• Conduct site inspections and progress monitoring to ensure quality and timelines.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports, documentation, and post-project reviews.
