Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Process Engineer for a hybrid role in Midrand, Gauteng. You will design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for advanced materials, ensuring scalability and efficiency.

You will analyze production data, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions while developing SOPs and P&IDs. Collaborate with R&D to scale lab processes to full production and drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably with advanced materials.
Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing techniques, and process control systems.
Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for advanced materials, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot process issues, and implement effective solutions.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and P&IDs.
Collaborate with R&D teams to transition new materials and processes from lab to production.
Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma.
Provide technical support to production teams and train personnel on new processes and equipment.
